What a General Contractor Trophy Club TX Homeowners Trust Does on a Home Remodel

What does a general contractor handle?A general contractor Trophy Club TX homeowners trust runs the whole job in order: design, permits, demo, framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, floors, cabinets, paint. One contractor accountable, first walk to final walk.

Trophy Club began in 1973 as one of the first master-planned communities in Texas, built around the only golf course ever designed by Ben Hogan. The town was named for the original plan to display Hogan's trophy collection here — a plan that never came to fruition, but the name stuck. Residents incorporated the town in 1985 to protect its character and control its own growth.

About 13,700 people live here now, in a town of just four square miles along the SH 114 corridor. The Trophy Club Country Club anchors it all: 36 holes of private championship golf on the Hogan Course and the Whitworth Course, named for Ben Hogan and LPGA legend Kathy Whitworth. More than 1,000 acres of parks, trails, and green space wind through neighborhoods like The Highlands, Turnberry, and The Knolls.

That mix shapes every remodel here. Original homes from the 1970s and 80s sit a few streets from gated custom estates and newer builds — every era needs a different touch. Homes along the fairways and greenbelts need careful updates that protect views and mature landscaping. We sort out permits, HOA rules, and town requirements for your address before the design is final.

  • ✓Design-build planning:layout, finishes, and budget locked before demo
  • ✓Permits & jurisdiction:city or county rules confirmed for your address
  • ✓Trade sequencing:crews scheduled so nobody waits
  • ✓One accountable builder:you talk to us, not a new sub each week

The heart of the home earns the most attention. Bigger islands, real pantries, layered lighting, and storage that ends the clutter. In a town built around a country club, your kitchen should be worth gathering in.See our kitchen remodeling work →

Home Additions

Primary suites, guest space, home offices. On Trophy Club lots, placing the addition around setbacks, HOA design rules, fairway views, and existing utilities is the real work. We solve that on paper first.

Remodeling in Texas' First Master-Planned Community

Trophy Club sits on the SH 114 corridor, about fifteen miles south of Denton and fourteen minutes from DFW Airport, with the western edge of Grapevine Lake just to the east. The town spans the Denton–Tarrant county line — most of it in Denton County, with a small piece in Tarrant.

The land has a longer story than the golf. In 1847, Charles and Matilda Medlin and twenty other families left Missouri as part of the Peters Colony and settled along Elizabeth Creek. When the creek flooded, they moved to higher ground — the ground Trophy Club sits on today. The Texas Pacific Railroad arrived in 1881. Medlin Middle School still carries the family name.

When Ben Hogan designed the golf course in the 1970s, developers built one of the first master-planned communities in Texas around it — original homes, golf-course properties, and later gated estates in neighborhoods like The Highlands, Turnberry, and The Knolls. Families move here for Northwest ISD schools and stay for the tight-knit, planned-community life. Its motto says it plainly: A Great Place To Call Home.

Homes here range from 1970s originals to custom estates near the fairways, with a median home value around $675,000. It pays to hire a general contractor Trophy Club TX homeowners trust for all of it — someone who knows older framing, luxury finishes, and HOA-governed neighborhoods alike.

Trophy Club Permits & Approvals

The Town of Trophy Club handles plan review, permits, and inspections through its Building & Development Department at 1 Trophy Wood Drive (682-237-2917). Additions, structural changes, and most plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work need a permit first. The town also runs design review for exterior changes — and most neighborhoods have their own HOA with architectural guidelines on top of that.

Most of the town feeds Northwest ISD. We confirm what your address requires — town permits, HOA approval, or both — before plans are final.

Questions Trophy Club homeowners ask

Trophy Club Remodeling Questions

How much does a whole-home remodel cost in Trophy Club?

Every Trophy Club home is different, so every estimate is different. Ours start as low as $10,000. A refresh with a new quartz sink and paint costs a fraction of new cabinets, stone counters, and moving walls. Call 469-312-0990 for a free in-home visit. We walk the project with you and put your exact number in writing.

Do I need a permit for my Trophy Club remodel?

Often, yes — and usually HOA approval too. The Town of Trophy Club reviews plans and issues permits for additions, alterations, and most plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work through its Building & Development Department. Most neighborhoods also run their own architectural review. We check town rules and your HOA's guidelines for your address before we start.

Can you remodel an older Trophy Club home?

Yes — and it takes a different touch than new construction. Many Trophy Club homes date to the 1970s and 80s: good bones, but tired wiring, old plumbing, and closed-off kitchens. We check the systems first, then plan updates that respect the home's character and protect its value.

Will my HOA need to approve the work?

In most Trophy Club neighborhoods, yes — at least for exterior changes. HOAs here run architectural review on additions, roofing, paint colors, and sometimes even landscaping. We have worked inside these HOAs for years: we submit the right paperwork, meet the design guidelines, and keep your project moving.

Costs, timelines & getting started

Planning Your Trophy Club Project

How long does a typical remodel take?

Kitchens and main baths: 6 to 10 weeks. Whole-home: 4 to 8 months. You get a true schedule up front — and first word if dates shift.

Can we live in the house during the remodel?

Most times, yes. We seal work zones, hold down dust, and keep a working kitchen or bath open. Full guts and rewires may need you out for a bit — we will tell you straight.

How do we start a Trophy Club remodeling project?

Call 469-312-0990 for a free home visit. We walk the house, hear what you want, flag permit needs for your area, and send a written scope and price. No push. No strings.
